Professional Practice Systems (PPS) was started in 1982 by Ron Bussinger, O.D. and
Scott Bussinger . Ron is a Doctor of Optometry who has been very involved in the evolution of optometry
for over 30 years. He is a past president of the Washington Association of Optometric
Physicians and has been active in the legislative arena as co-chairman of the legislative
committee during the passage of both DPA and TPA bills in Washington. He was Doctor of the
Year of the Washington Optometric Association in 1981. He functions as the CEO of
Professional Practice Systems. Scott Bussinger has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering specializing in computer science from Montana State University. In addition to being the chief programmer of OPTO, he has been active in the development and testing of programs for Microsoft and Borland. With his engineering background, Scott not only oversees the technical support for software, but also supervises hardware support. Professional Practice Systems is in a constant process of adding enhancements to OPTO. It is a dynamic and constantly adapting program. We have gathered ideas from progressive optometry practices all over the United States. We are always looking for new technologies from fields outside of optometry to increase the usefulness of OPTO. PPS responds to requests to adapt OPTO to meet individual needs. Thanks to these suggestions, OPTO has been modified and improved over time. Our clients have played and will continue to play an important role in the ongoing development of the system. |
